NYControlled Registration Opens

NYControlled, the upcoming educational trade show for lighting control systems and products, will open its doors on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC for the inaugural event. Supported by the Lighting Controls Association, this much-awaited lighting controls event is now accepting registrations for both exhibitors and attendees.

Autani and LiteTrace Merge

Autani, a leading provider of advanced building automation and energy management solutions, and LiteTrace, a pioneer in Bluetooth® lighting control solutions, recently announced their merger to create a global leader in smart commercial building technologies and energy optimization.

The DALI Alliance has extended the DALI-2 certification program to include firmware updates via the DALI interface in devices including control gear, application controllers and input devices such as sensors. Firmware updates are specified in Part 105 of the IEC 62386 standard.

The DALI Alliance recently announced it has appointed Carol Jones to the newly created role of Market Development Manager for North America. She takes responsibility for promoting the benefits of DALI and its certification programs (DALI-2, D4i, DALI+), while interacting with key stakeholders and gathering feedback from the market.

A Deep Dive Into the 2021 IECC

LiteTrace recently announced the launch of four new 347V controller and power pack models for its Keilton® lighting control system. The new 347V controllers allow easier use of Keilton lighting controls in commercial and industrial facilities in Canada.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) 2023 Integrated Lighting Campaign (ILC) recognized 11 organizations for exemplary commitment to energy efficiency and environmental responsibility in their buildings. The California Energy Alliance collaborated with the California Lighting Technology Center, RMS Energy Consulting LLC, and Southern California Edison to establish a working group of industry stakeholders to develop recommendations that simplify and clarify the nonresidential and residential lighting and lighting controls language contained in the 2022 Title 24, Part 6 Energy Code.

The 2016 Paris Agreement called for its nearly 200 signatories to join in limiting global warming to an increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. This would require carbon emissions to be reduced by about half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. The automatic lighting controls at a popular sports arena in Philadelphia were nearing the end of their life cycle. Arena managers needed to retrofit the lighting controls while ensuring events and operations were not interrupted. Leviton and Diversified Lighting worked with arena managers to replace aging lighting controls with GreenMAX Relay Panels, producing multiple benefits.
