Lighting Controls Academy Announces Update to Rebates Course

The Lighting Controls Academy has published a comprehensive update to its popular Education Express course, EE107B: Lighting Controls and Commercial Lighting Rebates in 2026.

Offered by utilities, state agencies, and other parties, commercial lighting rebate programs reward energy efficiency with cash rebates that can significantly reduce the initial cost of a lighting upgrade project. Rebates can be particularly advantageous for incorporating lighting controls. In most programs, if commercial lighting rebates are available, lighting control rebates are also available.

Authored by Craig DiLouie, LC, CLCP, education director for the Lighting Controls Academy, this course covers rebates, rebate trends, the general outlook for 2026, and how to obtain rebates for a project. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Describe rebates to building operators
• Connect available lighting control rebates to lighting upgrade projects
• Discern standard and networked lighting control rebates
• Select products qualified for a majority of rebate programs

This course is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) and recognized by the National Council on Quality in the Lighting Professions (NCQLP). It is required reading to prepare for NALMCO’s Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP) exam and recognized by the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) for advancing knowledge of networked lighting controls technology and application. The Lighting Controls Academy is recognized by the State of California as a continuing education provider.
