Lighting The Manufacturing Boom

The United States is currently enjoying a dramatic surge in construction in manufacturing infrastructure. This suggests fresh demand for lighting and controls and the expertise to properly apply them to industrial spaces.

The DALI Alliance will present two seminars at LightFair 2023, a major trade show and conference for architectural and commercial lighting, which takes place in New York on May 23-25.

Craig DiLouie, LC, CLCP recently enjoyed the opportunity to interview Jamie Britnell, Director of Product Marketing, Synapse Wireless for an article about how electrical distributors can sell networked lighting controls to LED upgrade customers, increasing revenues and service value.

Synapse Joins ANSI

Synapse Wireless, Inc., a member of the McWane family of companies, recently announced joining the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a full member.

In this project at Komatsu’s Texas manufacturing facility, Synapse Wireless provided a wireless lighting control system that enabled both lighting and HVAC control while conducting monitoring enabling timely maintenance for enhanced safety and manufacturing uptime.

Uline, a distributor of shipping and packaging solutions to businesses throughout North America, wanted all of the more than 3,000 lights in its 800,000-sq.ft. Lacey, WA facility to operate as a single system with one interface that in turn would work the company’s existing IT system. Uline selected Synapse Wireless, which designed an intelligent lighting solution that effectively manages all of the lights.

Synapse Wireless has published guidance to achieving best practices and energy code compliance for parking garage lighting control. The DesignLights Consortium recently announced the new membership of its Industry Advisory Committee (IAC), an 18-member body that will support the mission and strategic direction of the DLC to drive efficient lighting through education, collaboration, and expertise in 2021 and 2022.

Synapse Wireless’s Sense 4-20 enables you to bring the power of the latest Internet of Things technology into older facilities and equipment. Lighting networks are typically limited to photocell or motion sensors, but the Sense 4-20 enables integration of other sensors, such as temperature, humidity, vibration, etc. into an existing SimplySNAP network, expanding energy management tools.
