Webinar: Light Pollution Research Meets Control Technology

The Design Lights Consortium will host a free webinar Wednesday, December 10 at 2 PM ET in which the DLC and expert panelists review light pollution research and how it connects with control technology.

Light pollution can cause negative impacts on people, wildlife, and plants, but these impacts can be reduced with DLC-listed networked lighting controls (NLCs) and LUNA qualified products.

This webinar will explain how NLCs minimize light pollution to benefit the environment and human health, while saving energy and meeting application needs. Presenters including Michael Davidson -Board Member, DALI Alliance | LCA member Synapse Wireless; Lin Meng – Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Vanderbilt University; and Nick Mesler – Director at Evari Consulting will:

• Share some of the latest research on the impacts of light pollution on urban trees and airborne pollen
• Connect NLC strategies to geospatial lighting analyses
• Preview a fast-emerging frontier: event-based NLC dimming that taps into bird migration alerts
