Philips Launches Tunable-White Lighting

Philips Lighting recently announced launched a tunable-white lighting solution. The solution allows users to easily change LED intensities and CCT from warm white (2700K) all the way to cool white (6500K) depending on the need or preference at any given time. In addition, when combined with lighting controls, Philips tunable-white can provide centralized management and monitoring capabilities, and can also be integrated with other building systems such as HVAC. The ser interface provides a combination of predetermined settings that instantly change the ambiance of the room and supports the next scheduled task or spontaneous activity. Wireless control of the lighting installation can also be managed from an application on a mobile device.

Philips’ tunable white system is now available in North America across a select variety of Philips luminaires including Philips Ledalite BoldPlay and FloatPlane; Philips Day-Brite SofTrace, ClearAppeal and EvoGrid; and Philips Lightolier LyteProfile.

I would love to see a dedicated study to confirm the anticipated impact on the kids (male and female distinction?) as the setting names (“calm”,”focus”)are implying. Maybe there is a break-time setting “fun/play” available?
