The Lighting Controls Academy is pleased to offer Networked Wireless Lighting Controls, a Lighting Controls Academy course, available as a free video.
Wireless lighting controls can simplify installation in commercial buildings by using radio communication instead of physical wiring. Leveraging wireless communication reduces labor costs and opens new possibilities for spaces where running wires is difficult or expensive.
Based on the NEMA Academy course EE301: Networked Wireless Lighting Controls updated by LCA Education Manager C. Webster Marsh, this video provides an introduction to the world of wireless controls solutions. Running about 45 minutes, it covers the essentials of wireless lighting control systems—how they work, why they are beneficial, key communication protocols, and common system architectures.
By the end of this course, you will be able to: 1) identify and select components of a wireless lighting control system, 2) understand and explain wireless technologies to a project team, 3) compare and evaluate wireless control systems, and 4) recommend appropriate wireless lighting control solutions for various projects.
This course is registered and/or recognized by the AIA (LU/HSW), NCQLP (LC), NALMCO (CLCP), DLC, and the State of California. To gain education credit, after taking the course, click here to access the course and successfully complete the associated quiz at NEMA Academy.
