The Lighting Controls Academy has updated its popular Education Express course, EE102B: Load Control Hardware in Modern Lighting Control Systems, now available at NEMA Academy here.
Originally written by Craig DiLouie and given a thorough update by C. Webster Marsh, this course examines the hardware layer that turns control intent into actual load behavior in a commercial building. It focuses on how inputs, controller programming, electrical circuits, controlled outputs, code requirements, emergency conditions, documentation, networking, and owner operation come together to create the intended lighting result.
By the end of this course, you will be able to: 1) identify common load control devices, 2) design lighting control systems with an understanding of the use of controller programming, controlled outputs, and load control hardware, 3) evaluate where load control equipment can be located in a lighting control system, and 4) describe key documentation, scheduling, override, emergency, integration, cybersecurity, and functional testing considerations for load control hardware.
This course is registered and/or recognized by CALCTP, NLCAA, NCQLP (LC), NALMCO (CLCP), DLC, and the State of California.
Thank you for leveling up your lighting controls education!
