LCA TV: Lighting Controls Academy Publishes Video Version of Load Control Hardware Course

The Lighting Controls Academy has published a video version of its popular Education Express course EE102B: Load Control Hardware in Modern Lighting Control Systems, now available at YouTube.

Originally written by Craig DiLouie and given a thorough 2026 update by C. Webster Marsh, this course examines the hardware layer that turns control intent into actual load behavior in a commercial building. It focuses on how inputs, controller programming, electrical circuits, controlled outputs, code requirements, emergency conditions, documentation, networking, and owner operation come together to create the intended lighting result.

By the end of this course, you will be able to: 1) identify common load control devices, 2) design lighting control systems with an understanding of the use of controller programming, controlled outputs, and load control hardware, 3) evaluate where load control equipment can be located in a lighting control system, and 4) describe key documentation, scheduling, override, emergency, integration, cybersecurity, and functional testing considerations for load control hardware.

This course is registered and/or recognized by CALCTP, NLCAA, NCQLP (LC), NALMCO (CLCP), DLC, and the State of California. To gain education credit, after taking the course, click here to access the course and successfully complete the associated quiz at NEMA Academy.
